Lead-Derived Products include a wide range of materials used across industrial applications. Lead is a metallic element with the atomic number 82 and an atomic mass of 207.20 u. Its chemical symbol is Pb, derived from the Latin word Plumbum. In its natural state, lead is a dense, heavy, bluish-gray metal with both stable and radioactive isotopes.

Lead has been known since ancient times, with historical records dating back to around 7000 BC in Asia Minor. Throughout history, it has been widely used in the manufacture of weapons, tools, and decorative objects. Thanks to its malleability and durability, it was also used for writing tablets, plumbing systems, bathtubs, ornamental pieces, medallions, and many other applications.

Today, lead is commonly found in automotive and marine batteries, wheel balancing weights, X-ray radiation shielding, protective cable sheathing, pigments, and detonators used in construction explosives, among many other industrial applications.
